About the artist

Landeck studied printmaking at Columbia University and began making prints in 1927. He along with Martin Lewis joined forces and opened a school for printmakers at George Miller’s 14th Street lithography studio. In 1940 he met Stanley William Hayter and began to work at Atelier 17. It was there that he made his first engraving.
