| Build an affordable print collection | ||||||
In the 1930s Associated American Artists, a New York gallery, offered new editions of prints to collectors at very reasonable prices. So reasonable, if fact, that some purchased each and every print that was offered. Today those collectors’ homes are filled with original prints by Thomas Hart Benton, Grant Wood, John Stuart Curry and many other major artists. Now, artline® is bringing back the opportunity to build such a collection. To insure high quality works by important and emerging artists, print offerings will be pooled from the inventories of members of the International Fine Print Dealers Association. Print editions will be small and most will be printed by the artists. Every effort will be made to provide a variety of print media. Background material will be included on each artist along with a statement of authenticity. As CEO of artline® and an art dealer for almost 50 years, Jane Haslem is purchasing seven impressions of each print offered. This collection will be given to each of her seven grandchildren when they reach young adulthood. |
