Stella
Barbara Krakow Gallery was founded in 1964, and dealt exclusively with prints, with the opening exhibition featuring a series of 1964 prints by Ellsworth Kelly. The gallery has since expanded into other media, focusing on contemporary work by international, national and regional artists, but has maintained its strong connection to the print medium. Throughout its 37 year history the gallery has published the print catalogue raisonnés of Kiki Smith, Elizabeth Murray, and Susan Rothenburg, as well as traveling print retrospectives of those artists as well as Terry Winters. The gallery for the last three years has run a program called the Print Publisher Spotlight which highlights the newest publications by world-renown print publishers.
