A small mosaic like farm complex including a windmill, a few trees and a cluster of farm buildings is featured in the lower left. The space above this absorbs 7/8’s of the whole image and denotes prairie wind and the possibility of an impending storm, A sun hidden by the clouds appears in the upper right of the image. This is an excellent example of how Jackson worked out his later prairie paintings.
